Special ladies program: Rájec nad Svitavou Chateau - second part of day-long trip
The state-owned chateau Rájec nad Svitavou is located north of Blansko in the Moravian Karst area. The present early Neo-Classical appearance of the building in the style of Luis XVI originated between 1763 and 1769, under the Princely Family of Salm. Luxurious rooms of the noble family have been preserved from the last quarter of the 19th century which are partly a reconstruction of their original state in the 18th century. A picture gallery of the family of Salm has been installed on the first floor of the chateau, containing works of Dutch, Flemish and other European Baroque masters. The large park in English style, established in 1767, demonstrates the tradition of chateau gardening including thematic exhibitions of flowers in the historical halls of the castle.
